Accelerated M.S.Ed. in Secondary Education (Online)
With Teacher Certification
With this combination bachelor’s degree from the College of Arts and Sciences and accelerated master's from the School of Education, you'll be set up for success as a more marketable educator in just one additional year.
This unique Transition to Teach program saves you money and enables you to study the content area you’re passionate about while pursuing a master’s degree (as an undergraduate upperclassman). Then, you will enroll in an 11 month IUB Online Secondary Transition to Teach Program (middle or high school). You will be immersed in online coursework, and in-person clinical and student teaching experiences that prepare you for all classroom settings. Upon successful completion, you will be eligible for an initial teaching license and a M.S.Ed. in Secondary Education.
Equip yourself for a life-long career in a field that needs highly qualified, passionate educators who will empower students for all life's challenges. And with a master's degree, you'll be eligible for an increased salary in most districts and states nation-wide.
This program offers rolling admissions, meaning you may apply at any time.
The Graduate Studies Office will accept unofficial transcripts and self-reported test scores for admission reviews. Any admission made with these documents would be conditioned on receipt of official documents, which should be provided as soon as possible.
If you are currently enrolled or have applied in the past year, you are eligible for a reduced application fee of $35.

The Secondary Transition to Teaching (T2T) program prepares you for a single Indiana teaching license that covers both junior high/middle school and high school. Your license will include a specified content field depending on your program of study and any license additions you pursue.
The ETS Praxis Indiana Secondary Content Area test code is noted in parentheses in the list below.
Every T2T graduate seeking a teaching position was hired in a secondary school (from 2020-2024).
Award-Winning Alumni
Three students from our 2021-2022 cohort were awarded the IACTE Outstanding Future Educator Award.
Innovative Strategies
All T2T courses integrate Culturally Responsive teaching strategies focused on asset-based community partnerships.
With a degree in English Literature and a desire to help others succeed, the T2T program provided me with the perfect opportunity to find my passion of teaching. I am forever grateful to the IU School of Education.
