Student teaching placements are made in Todos Santos, a small town in Baja California Sur (about 60 miles west of Los Cabos). Students typically live in homestay accommodations.

At this time, only secondary placements can be made in Mexico.

Costs and Scholarships

Global Gateway for Teachers cannot provide exact cost information since costs will vary throughout the year and from one individual to the next. Please note that all estimates are listed in U.S. Dollars. Keep in mind that foreign currency exchange rates will affect the value of the U.S. Dollar and hence your budget.

Teaching Responsibilities

Students will teach conversational and written English at the secondary level. Further, it may be possible to fulfill practicum requirements in Mexico for the ESL/ENL license addition.

Other Considerations

Proficiency in Spanish is required. Participation is not limited to students pursuing the ESL/ENL license addition. At this time, only secondary education or "all grades" student teachers may choose Mexico.
