Employee Appreciation Programs

If you'd like us to recognize a top performing employee who has made a difference at the School of Education, there are two ways to do so.

Staff Recognition Award

The School of Education Staff Recognition Award recognizes our outstanding support, service or professional staff members. Staff members who are at least .75 FTE (30 hrs. a week) and have successfully completed the probationary period for all new employees are eligible for nomination. There is no limit to the number of times an employee can be nominated or rewarded, however, we encourage supervisors to use discretion when nominating past award recipients.

Employees should meet at least one of the following award criteria:

  • Exemplary performance, outstanding achievements or accomplishments
  • Exemplary role modeling to include outstanding customer service, collaboration, and positive attitude
  • Cost savings or ideas that contribute to increased efficiency
  • Design and implementation of new systems or processes

All nominations must be submitted with up to three letters of support, one of which must be from the employee’s supervisor. Nominations will be reviewed by a committee appointed by the Dean and Executive Associate Dean and the winners will receive a monetary award and luncheon in late Spring.

The deadline for nominations for this award is in early March each year. However, nominations can be made at any time during the calendar year. Nominations submitted after the current year's deadline will be considered for the following year’s award.

Nominate a Colleague

Appreciate a Colleague

The Appreciate a Colleague program provides any staff, student or faculty member an opportunity to recognize the contributions of a staff member here at the School.

Has there been an employee who routinely goes above and beyond in getting you an answer to a question? Did a colleague drop everything to help you meet an important deadline? Is there someone in your office that always goes the extra mile to support our students? These are all great reasons to submit a nomination! There are no time limits on this. When you are so inspired, simply take a moment to let us know why this employee deserves to be recognized.

Simply provide your name, the name of the employee to be recognized, and a brief description of why this employee is deserving of recognition. I will then present your feedback to the employee with a small token of our appreciation. It’s an easy way to let someone know that they have made a difference!
