HEA 1002 (2025) amended IC 20-28-11.5-9, removing the requirement that school corporations and charter schools provide the results of staff performance evaluations to the department. In addition, it removed the requirement of the department to report the results of staff performance evaluations to teacher preparation programs. As a result, no educator evaluation data was included in the most recent report (2025). Additionally, HEA 1002 made a variety of adjustments to educator evaluation plans, including removing the requirement that schools use a designation of highly effective, effective, improvement necessary, or ineffective for each certified employee. School corporations are still required to develop or adopt an annual educator performance evaluation plan, that is not subject to collective bargaining, for each certified employee. This plan must be posted on the school corporation's website. These changes become effective July 1, 2025. Our EPP is working with school partners and the IDOE to identify effectiveness data, and this data will be posted in the near future.
