Factor Future Educator Program

Get ready for a transformative experience designed specifically for future teachers and counselors.

July 5-18, 2026

As a rising high school senior (current junior) in our future educators' program, you'll spend two weeks overnight immersed in the vibrant community at Indiana University-Bloomington, staying in our on-campus residence halls where you'll explore your passion for education. You'll engage in informational sessions and activities to help you make informed, personalized decisions about your collegiate and career paths in teaching or counseling. This is a FREE event (food and lodging will be covered).

Set yourself up for success.

Throughout the two weeks, participants will attend sessions such as Navigating the Admission Process, College 101/Thinking Outside the Box/Time Management, and Financial Literacy, which will help motivate and instruct future educators on how to be successful in the college application process. Our faculty will lead mini-workshops focused on teacher education subjects such as motivating students, classroom management, technology integration in the classroom, counseling and mental health management, and fostering student engagement.

Who should attend?

The new Future Educators Program in the School of Education will create an opportunity for students from a wide range of backgrounds to explore careers in teaching. Indiana high school juniors interested in teacher education, counseling, and careers in student services are encouraged to apply. For consideration, applicants should be:

• Indiana residents
• Current high school juniors
• Enrolled in a college preparatory curriculum (Indiana GPS Diploma, or Indiana GPS Diploma Plus)
• Have a cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher

Students who attend this program are encouraged to consider Indiana University-Bloomington (IUB) School of Education (SOE) in their college choice process. Factor Future Educator students who choose to enroll at IUB SOE will receive a comprehensive continuum of support throughout their college education.
