The Indiana University School of Education is committed to faculty governance, and the Policy Council is an elected governing body for faculty on the Bloomington campus.
There is a long history of faculty control over academic policies within the school. The policies and procedures you will find on this site are the result of the hard work of current and previous faculty members. You can also read the Constitution of the Faculty, last updated in 2022, to learn more about how it works.
Faculty members and alternates serve two-year terms. Policy Council meetings include student and staff representatives.
