Action for Access

Action for Access: Global Special Education Lab

Action for Access is dedicated to advancing inclusive education in schools and communities worldwide. We believe that every student, regardless of ability or circumstances, deserves the opportunity to thrive academically and socially. Through research, advocacy, and professional development initiatives, we work to support educational access for students with disabilities around the world.

Our international partnerships in Africa, India, and Europe adapt best practices in identification, academic instruction, and behavior management to suit the specific conditions in each country. Action for Access seeks to unite educators, researchers, and community leaders to develop effective approaches to inclusive education within their local contexts.

Current Projects

Our global commitment is to help students access special education resources, enabling them to grow academically and thrive within their communities.

Sarah Hurwitz and Tina O’Neal have been selected to be Fulbright Specialists. The Fulbright Specialist program pairs highly qualified U.S. academics with host institutions abroad to foster collaboration, share the specialist’s expertise, and build capacity at the host institution. The specialist can travel to the host country for 2-6 weeks to consult and share knowledge through seminars and workshops, developing curricula and materials, or engaging in strategic and institutional planning.

Please get in touch if your university, governmental agency, or NGO is interested in hosting Sarah Hurwitz or Tina O’Neal to work on a project together.
