Ingrid Engene Gøranson
Ingrid Engene Gøranson graduated with a B.A. in Philosophy in Spring 2021. She is currently pursuing a B.A. in Criminology with plans to graduate in Fall 2022. Ingrid’s experiences with HOPE inspired her to create a mentoring program in her home city of Oslo, Norway. Her mentoring program is also aimed at helping high-risk youth by preventing school dropouts, harmful substance use, and crime by helping the youth improve their academic capabilities, social competence, and general self-image. After she graduates, Ingrid plans to stay in Oslo and continue expanding the mentoring program while also working on other projects related to harm reduction in substance use and drug policy reform. In 2023, Ingrid hopes to start the IMARC program (International Master’s in Advanced Research in Criminology) in the Netherlands. Her dream is to conduct research within criminology. Specifically, she is interested in studying juvenile delinquency, substance use, green criminology, and restorative justice. Ingrid states that “participating in HOPE had a profound impact on my life and I will forever be thankful for the opportunity.”
