Student teaching placements are typically made in primary and secondary schools in and around Belfast. Students typically live in dormitory accommodations on the campus of Stranmillis University College, the Global Gateway's partner institution in Belfast, but other arrangements can be made as well.

Costs and Scholarships

Global Gateway for Teachers cannot provide exact cost information since costs will vary throughout the year and from one individual to the next. Please note that all estimates are listed in U.S. Dollars. Keep in mind that foreign currency exchange rates will affect the value of the U.S. Dollar and hence your budget.

Teaching Responsibilities

In most cases, student teachers will teach in their own licensing area (e.g., elementary education, secondary math, etc.). Further, it may be possible to fulfill practicum requirements in Northern Ireland for the following license additions: ESL/ENL, Reading, JH/MS, Computers, and possibly others.

Other Considerations

The language of instruction is English.
