Kubow and Jin receive best paper award from the Comparative and International Education Society

Patricia Kubow, Professor, Department of Curriculum and Instruction, and Seonmi Jin, Ph.D. candidate, Higher Education and Student Affairs, have been selected for the 2024 Best Paper Award for Research on Teaching Comparative and International Education.

Their paper, “The Global Imperative for Higher Education: Cultivating Students' Ontological Relationships to Multiscalar Spaces through Glonacal Agency," will be presented at the Comparative and International Education Society Conference in Miami, Florida, on March 13.

The paper, recently published in Education Sciences, establishes an ontological and pedagogical conceptualization of how comparative and international education can prepare students to develop “glonacal,” or global, national, and local agency by interrogating the concept of space and attending to students’ sense of being in the context of education and agency development.
