How did you hear about the School of Education diversity initiatives?
I had the opportunity to meet Dr. Darnell at the job fair during my freshmen year. He told me about the opportunity you can get of working with the Balfour program, I was interested, and I applied.

When did you begin working with diversity programs in the School of Education?
I started working in the School of Education since my freshman year.

What do you like most about working in the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion? What do you find challenging in the work?
What I like the most about working in the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is the opportunity we are offered. When you are welcomed in the office, we have the right to choose the team we want to be part of based on our interest, the flexibility, and the work atmosphere. One thing I found challenging is to correctly apply what I learned in real life situations.

What have you learned working in School of Education diversity programs? How do you believe working in diversity will impact your career goals?
I learned a lot about professionalism, how to write and to respond to emails professionally so I could use it whenever I work for a program director or looking for future opportunities. I learned how talk professionally over the phone. I learned how to work effectively with a group which will be essential in any career path you choose to do. I also deepen I knowledge in Microsoft office to be more familiar with the current computer skills.

Which type of projects do you work on for the DEI Office?
