The expertise of our faculty extends across our campus through IU’s many research centers. Starting this month, several of our faculty members will serve in appointments outside the IU School of Education:

Serafin Coronel-Molina has been appointed the Director of the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CLACS) in the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies beginning July 1.

Beth Samuelson has been named Director of the African Studies Program at the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies.

Leonard Taylor was appointed Director of the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) beginning July 1.

Vasti Torres was appointed Interim Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education beginning July 1.

They join others who have been working in crucial roles around IU:

Sylvia Martinez was appointed Director of the Center for Research on Race and Ethnicity in Society in the Office of the Vice Provost for Research last July.

Faridah Pawan was appointed Academic Director, IU ASEAN Gateway, Bangkok, Thailand, in the Office of the Vice President for International Affairs last October.
