Two awards from the Indiana University School Administrators Association were given out at this year’s Martha McCarthy Law and Policy Institute.
Dr. Jay Arthur received the Dean F. Berkley Emerging Leadership Award. Arthur is the Director of Special Services and Student Services for Carmel Clay Schools. He attended the School of Education to become a licensed Special Education Director and completed his doctorate in Educational Leadership and Curriculum Studies, culminating in a Superintendent License.
Dr. Sandi Cole received the Outstanding Leadership and Contribution to Education Award. Cole is the Director of the Center on Education and Lifelong Learning at the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community at IU. Prior to joining the university, Dr. Cole spent 22 years as a public-school teacher and administrator at both the elementary and secondary levels. She has directed the Special Education Leadership program in the Indiana University School of Education for the past 10 years.
