IQ-Wall brings new technology to the IU School of Education

The IQ-Wall is a large format, ultra-high resolution, tiled video display system developed by the UITS Advanced Visualization Lab.

A new installation has gone up in the Atrium of the Wright Education Building, bringing even better technological capabilities to the IU School of Education community.

The IQ-Wall, installed on the west end of the Atrium where the former cafe was located, is a large format, ultra-high resolution, tiled video display system developed by the UITS Advanced Visualization Lab

According to Eric Wernert, Director of Visual and Data Labs at the Research Technologies + Pervasive Technologies Institute, anything a user can do with a computer or on the Web, they can do with an IQ-Wall, thanks to the large size and ultra-high resolution: “Students and faculty in the School of Education will especially benefit from the ability to share their work by creating digital exhibits for public viewing, thanks to the IQ-Wall’s location; to deliver more impactful presentations and immersive experiences, thanks to its bright displays and curved configuration; and to create more opportunities for teamwork and collaboration, thanks to its size, resolution, and variety of input sources.”

This immersive platform will empower our students, faculty, and staff to explore, engage, and innovate in new ways. It will be more than a display tool for our school. The IQ-Wall is a showpiece for shaping the future of education right here in the Wright building.

“With my background in learning technologies, I know the importance of having the best technology available to our community,” said Dean Anastasia Morrone. “This immersive platform will empower our students, faculty, and staff to explore, engage, and innovate in new ways. It will be more than a display tool for our school. The IQ-Wall is a showpiece for shaping the future of education right here in the Wright building."

“We’re proud to enhance student opportunities within the School of Education with this exciting IQ-wall installation,” said Vice President for IT and CIO Rob Lowden.” We’re eager to see how they use this wall in new and innovative ways, and we’re proud to partner with education and capital planning to make it happen.”

Installing the IQ-Wall was a joint effort between the School of Education, IU Capital Planning and Facilities, and University Information Technology Services, a great example of collaboration across the IU campus to bring enhancements to our building.
