Future Teachers Scholarships
High school seniors at one of three Pathways schools (Emmerich Manual and Arsenal Technical in Indianapolis and Riley High School in South Bend) are eligible for a $2,000/year renewable scholarship if they choose to pursue a career in education at the IU Bloomington School of Education.
If you are interested in the scholarship, make sure you indicate that your intended major is education when you submit your Indiana University Bloomington application. Once you are admitted to Indiana University Bloomington, you can apply for the scholarship.
To remain eligible, you must demonstrate qualifying scores on basic skills testing as required by the Teacher Education admission requirements before the end of your first academic year, and make adequate progress toward full-time admission into the teacher education program of your choice.
How to Apply
Letter of Recommendation
You will need a letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, school administrator, or adult from a community organization, such as a church, club, or athletic team. The letter should describe how the person knows you, comment on your commitment to learning, and attest to your interest in becoming a teacher.
Letters must be sent directly to the School of education by mail or by email.
