A new three-year research grant will allow Professor Joel Wong to study gratitude intervention. The grant, funded by the John Templeton Foundation, is titled "Training and Treatment Integration Research for Virtue and Flourishing in Mental Healthcare: A Team Science Project" and is a collaborative project conducted by multiple researchers from nine institutions.
Wong said, "Although a large body of research attests to the benefits of gratitude, little research has been conducted on gratitude interventions in psychotherapy and few resources exist to train therapists in using gratitude interventions in psychotherapy. To this end, this project will develop and assess gratitude micro interventions in both individual and group psychotherapy and evaluate the efficacy of training therapists in the use of such interventions."
