Award for Outstanding International Engagement

• Eligibility for the Outstanding International Engagement Award is limited to faculty members of the IUB School of Education.
• Former award recipients are ineligible for this award for a period of five years.

• The Outstanding International Engagement Award Committee (OIEAC) is a subcommittee of the International Engagement Committee (IEC).
• The OIEAC consists of at least five members from the IEC who will make the decision.
• The chair of the OIEAC is elected from among its members.
• The OIEAC reviews nomination materials and evaluates nominees based on the award criteria (see below).
• The OIEAC chair announces the selection results to the nominees and their department chairs or center directors by March 15.

The International Programs Committee will evaluate the overall merit of nominees’ international achievements. The final selection will be made based on the following criteria:

• The significance of the nominee’s practice, engagement, research, external partnership(s), and/or other collaboration(s).
• The impact of those activities for advancing the School of Education’s research, teaching, and service missions.
• The reach of those activities across the local, state, national, and international contexts that benefit from them.

• Statement (no more than 3 single-spaced pages) of international engagement including:
  • Statement of perspectives, experiences, and/or theoretical frameworks that drive the nominee’s internationally-related efforts.
  • Summary of achievements with recent work highlighted.
• Full curriculum vita with recent internationally-related work highlighted.
• Letter(s) from partners/collaborators/colleagues attesting to the nature and significance of the work’s impact (no more than 2 single-spaced pages). No more than two letters will be reviewed.
