Dr. Amara Stuehling joined the Global Gateway for Teachers as Assistant Director in May, 2018. Before coming to the office in this role, she worked as Senior Study Abroad Advisor at the University of Evansville. There, she organized short-term faculty-led study abroad programs and supported students of all majors participating in a variety of study abroad programs around the world. She completed her Ph.D. in Literacy, Culture, and Language Education at Indiana University, with research focusing on young children’s linguistic and cultural learning in a partial immersion Spanish preschool. During her graduate work at IU, she worked as an Associate Instructor with the Overseas Program in the Global Gateway for Teachers for five years and is thrilled to have rejoined the program in her new role of Assistant Director.
