Bonk achieves several awards at AECT conference

Last month, Professor Curt Bonk won several awards at the Association for Educational Communication and Technology International Convention. 

Bonk, a professor of Instructional Systems Technology, received one of the top awards at the conference, the AECT Annual Achievement Award for accomplishments advancing the educational communication and technology field, for his podcast, Silver Lining for Learning, sharing that people started congratulating him for the award before he even knew he won it. 

Bonk, along with IST doctoral students Chen Feng, Zixi Li, and Xiaoying Zheng won the AECT Research and Theory Division Outstanding Conference Proposal for their project, "Investigating the Self-Directed Learning Process in Argentine Tango Learning."

For their book “Transformative Teaching Around the World: Stories of Cultural Impact, Technology Integration, and Innovative Pedagogy,” Bonk and IST alumna Meina Zhu also received the Outstanding Book Award from the Culture, Learning, and Technology (CLT) Division of AECT.
