Shriberg inducted into school psychology society

Dave Shriberg has been inducted to the Society for the Study of School Psychology, a group of highly accomplished researchers in school psychology.

“I was completely surprised and honored to be selected. While this was not an honor I sought, it is incredibly humbling to be recognized by one's professorial peers in this way,” Shriberg said. “In particular, I am now one of only a handful of people in SSSP whose research focuses on cultural responsiveness and social justice. I hope to use my membership in SSSP to help fund more and more DEI initiatives and make it easier for graduate students and early career researchers to advance work that addresses oppression.”

Membership in SSSP is limited to 150 people, and new members have to be nominated by current members, with typically three new members selected a year. The organization funds a variety of research initiatives, primarily aimed at supporting graduate students, early career faculty and mid-career faculty. The organization also runs Journal of School Psychology, a top tier journal in the field.
