Future graduate students looking to study inquiry methodology will find the program has assumed a new name: Qualitative and Quantitative Research Methodology (QQRM).
The Ph.D. program is part of a long and rich history of methods instruction in the School of Education and was first recognized by IU in 2009, according to Professor Jessica Lester.
"While there is a wonderful history and legacy that surrounds the name 'Inquiry Methodology', the new program name better aligns with national norms for degree programs in research methods,” Lester explained. “Importantly, we selected to include the word ‘methodology’ versus ‘methods’ in our new name to recognize the history of our program and our focus on studying methods as a discipline."
