Arnove appointed an honorary professor

Robert Arnove, Chancellor’s Professor Emeritus of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies,  has been appointed an honorary professor at the Universidad Intercontinental de la Empresa in Spain. Arnove will receive the appointment at the university’s graduation ceremony on Wednesday, June 12, in Vigo, Spain. Arnove will also be awarded the inaugural international research award of the cultural and educational foundation, La Afundacion.

The International Award for Educational Research involved over a hundred nominations from nine different countries. After a first selection of 17 nominations, the jury, made up of professionals of international prestige and from European, Latin American, and North American countries, opted to recognize the intense and committed trajectory of Arnove, whose specialization in the field of comparative education has led him to be one of the world references in this field.

The award carries a substantial monetary award. Arnove is dedicating the funds to a major Spanish educational research society so that the money can be used to support graduate students and faculty ability to attend national and international conferences in the field of comparative and international education.
