Patricia Kubow received the Research Leadership Award from the Association of North America Higher Education International (ANAHEI). The award honors the contributions of an educator to research in the field of global issues and education, reflected in a lengthy commitment to the field as demonstrated by research publications in global and international education, and recognizes international educators worldwide. Kubow was selected for her publication productivity, leadership activities in research that impact society and mentoring of graduate students as they advance in their research careers in international education. The award was conferred at the Global Conference on Education and Research held May 21-24, 2019 at the University of South Florida, Sarasota-Manatee campus.
Kubow’s research focuses on global-local constructions of democracy, citizen identity and formal and indigenous education in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East. Her work has been conducted in 25 countries worldwide.
