The Global Education Initiatives (GEIs) are a joint partnership between Indiana University’s School of Education and the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies. These initiatives have been developed to promote global mindedness and global competencies of students, pre-service and in-service teachers, principals, and faculty members. They are also aligned with campus efforts to internationalize K-12 education in Indiana. By intertwining academic, practical, and research components, these initiatives raise awareness about global issues and foster deeper understanding of other cultures from different parts of the world.
The GEIs program is the recipient of the 2020 AACTE Best Practice Award in Support of Global and International Perspectives.
