About Me

Jill Scott has served as an elementary teacher, literacy coach, elementary field supervisor, and most recently as an Visiting Clincal Assistant Professor teaching core literacy courses across three programs: Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, and Special Education/Elementary Education. Jill has taught Methods of Teaching Reading and Language Arts, Methods of Teaching Reading, Early Literacy and Play-Based Instruction, Reading Research for Literacy Leaders, and Instructional Issues in Language Arts for Literacy Teachers, and she supervises IU students in the field. She currently serves as a member of the Indiana University Advancing the Science of Reading Initiative Steering Committee which is a collaboration of all IU campuses. At IU Bloomington, she helps to lead the Science of Reading Advisory Team and supervises E339. She earned her Ph.D. in Literacy, Culture, and Language Education from Indiana University Bloomington in October 2023.
