Seonmi Jin is a Ph.D. candidate in Higher Education and Student Affairs at Indiana University Bloomington. She is originally from South Korea and started her doctoral journey as an international mother student.

She has held an assistantship at the Center for Postsecondary Research and currently works for Advocates and Allies for Equity under the Office of Vice Provost for Faculty and Academic Affairs.

Her research interests lie in promoting culturally relevant education in college classrooms and promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice in faculty development and higher education institutional research practices. Integrating her background in international studies and global citizenship work, she currently focuses on research on creating a college environment that can empower minoritized women in STEM majors in the context of globalization.
