Krista Glazewski, Associate Professor and Department Chair of Instructional Systems Technology, has won this year’s Faculty Excellence in Mentoring Award from the IU Center of Excellence for Women & Technology.
Glazewski said she was exceedingly honored to receive the award: “Some of the proudest work I do is to help others be successful with their goals, ideas, and progress. I am so lucky because IU students are among the best I have ever encountered.”
As a mentor, Glazewski works hard to help her students realize their goals and helps connect them to opportunities, resources and other leaders in the field. Part of that work is helping to create space to share stories with each other.
Women with interests in technology and technology-adjacent fields confront some serious but often predictable barriers. By opening up spaces for storytelling, we have the opportunity to help others navigate and make sense of their experiences,” she said.
