About Me

Alexandria Truex completed her Bachelor’s at Indiana University in elementary and special education. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, she lived in the Foster International Learning Community and served as a peer instructor for the community development course. Her passion for learning about different cultures drew her to the Global Gateway for Teachers where she completed her student teaching placement in Italy. Upon graduating from IU, Alexandria returned to her hometown of Indianapolis and taught in Washington Township schools for one year before deciding to take a teaching position in Tanzania. She spent 3 wonderful years teaching and exploring in East Africa but when Covid hit in 2020, she evacuated Tanzania and returned to Indiana where she took up a 6th grade teaching position in Zionsville Community Schools. Over the years, she has traveled to more than 20 countries. She loves sharing all that she's learned during her various domestic and international experiences and is ecstatic to be returning to the Global Gateway for Teachers as an Associate Instructor.
