Maggie Reisdorf joins The Office of Student Conduct
The Office of Student Conduct is pleased to announce that Maggie Reisdorf (M.S.Ed. '21) began her role as a Student Conduct Coordinator in the Office of Student Conduct at Indiana University-Bloomington as of January 4, 2021. Maggie will manage and adjudicate Personal Misconduct functions and COVID compliance. 

Dr. Reginald A. Blockett receives Diversity Teaching Award

Dr. Reginald A. Blockett (Ph.D. 17 ) received The Burch, Jacobs & Moore Diversity Teaching Excellence Award at Grand Valley State University. This award recognizes GVSU faculty who advance and encourage inclusive excellence within the GVSU community. He is an Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership and Counseling at Grand Valley State University. 

Drs. Torres, Martinez and Hernandez Win Prestigious Book Award 

HESA Professor and Educational Leadership and Policy Studies Department Chair, Dr. Vasti Torres, along with IU Associate Professor Dr. Sylvia Martinez and Rutgers University Associate Professor Dr. Ebelia Hernandez (Ph.D. ‘08 ), have been awarded the American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education (AAHHE) Book of the Year Award for their book, Understanding the Latinx Experience: Developmental and Contextual Influences. The book examines new research and its implications for practice that is critical for professionals working with Latinx students in educational and counseling contexts.

HESA Ph.D. Candidate selected as a fellow for the 2021 NCES Data Institute

HESA Ph.D. Candidate, Esen Gokpinar-Shelton has been selected as a fellow for the 2021 The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) Data Institute. This competitive fellowship provides an intensive introduction to NCES datasets and research methodologies using large-scale national data sources. Through this fellowship this year 30 new fellows will participate in a 6-week online course, culminating in a collaborative research project where the research teams will present their projects to academics and industry and government leaders.
