School of Education kicks off Parents Weekend with Armstrong Panel Discussion

Discussion focused on how to succeed as a student teacher and during first year in the classroom

Tuesday, November 10, 2015

A packed house of students and parents welcomed the School of Education’s 2015 Armstrong Teacher Educators for a panel discussion on how to succeed as a student teacher and during your first year in the classroom.  Students who attended the panel discussion on November 6th, heard from some of Indiana’s top educators who shared stories about their early teaching experiences and offered sound advice for students preparing for student teaching or to become a first year teacher.

Armstrong Teacher Educators take an active role in shaping the next generation of teachers by participating in workshops and panel discussions or partnering with IU faculty on independent research.

The event kicked off festivities for Parents Weekend at the School of Education. Other events included a special showing and discussion of the film Beyond Measure hosted by the INSPIRE Living Learning Center and a Saturday morning breakfast and guest panel discussion on Becoming a Successful Teacher.
