Four New Directors Appointed to IU School of Education Alumni Board

The Indiana University School of Education Alumni Association Board of Directors welcomed four new members at its annual meeting October 15

The Indiana University School of Education Alumni Association Board of Directors welcomed four new members at its annual meeting October 15. Scott Caulfield, Jeff Hendrix, Steve Perkins and Lizz Walters joined the 21 other members of the board, tasked with providing Dean Terry Mason with input regarding education issues, priorities and engagement around the state.

Scott F. Caulfield is the Director of New Site Development, Reading in Motion. Previously, he had worked with Educational Technology companies, as an Educational Consultant with Promethean and recently as director of channels & sales at Swivl. He also has taught middle school history and computers, and was head basketball coach at Twin Creeks Middle School in Houston, Texas. He graduated from the School of Education in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Social Studies Education.


Jeff Hendrix

Jeffrey A. Hendrix is Superintendent of School Town of Munster. Most recently, he was superintendent at Sunman-Dearborn Community Schools in St. Leon, Indiana. He graduated from the School of Education with a Bachelor of Science in English Education in 1983, a Master of Science in Secondary Education in 1986, an Education Specialist degree in School Administration in 2002, and a Doctorate in Education in School Administration in 2003.


Steve Perkins

Steven R. Perkins is a Latin Teacher at North Central High School. He's also the 2014 Indiana Teacher of the Year and a recipient of the Sagamore of the Wabash. He graduated from the School of Education with a certification in 1991 in Secondary Education, grades 5-12.


Elizabeth Walters

Elizabeth A. Walters is Principal of Beech Grove High School in Beech Grove, Indiana. She was previously the assistant principal at Southport High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. She graduated from the School of Education with a Master of Science in Educational Leadership in 2006, an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership in 2015, and is currently working on her Doctorate in Education in Educational Leadership.
