Promotional Posting Guidelines

Posting of promotional signage in the School of Education is a courtesy to the requesting organization/sponsor. 

Permission to post signs (posters, flyers, course announements, etc.) MUST be obtained from the Office of Marketing and Communications. To request permission please reach out to Marie Canning, Art Director-E-mail maricann@iu.edu, call 812-856-8204, or stop by ED 2204. 

All postings MUST have an approval stamp that indicates the date when the sign is to come down. After that date building coordinators will remove expired signs.

Posting of signs, notices, and/or advertisements by individuals or organizations outside of approved locations is PROHIBITED. This includes hallways, the ground, waste receptacles, elevators, glass doors, walls, poles, and trees.

All postings without proper approval will be removed. Building coordinators are authorized to remove improperly posted signs/flyers, notices, and/or advertisements in accordance with this policy.

Where to post flyers in the School of Education

  • Glass entry windows on first floor
  • Metal Doors on floors 2, 3, and 4 floor stair wells
  • DO NOT tape posters to the wooden doors at the end of the hallways on floors 2, 3, and 4.

Guidelines

  • All SoE events must use approved IU School of Education logo and fit into all brand requirements as set by IU Communications
  • Commercial advertising and/or personal notices are prohibited
  • Posters should be no larger than 12" x 18"
  • Posters should be hung with scotch tape on all four corners of the paper. Masking, packing, duct, or other heavy duty tape should not be used.
  • Tear-off/pull-off tabs are prohibited
  • Display of sexually suggestive objects or pictures and/or discriminatory portrayal of individuals are not allowed
  • Advertisements/flyers may not be placed on automobile windshields or indiscriminantly handed out to passers-by
  • Chalking on buildings and sidewalks is not allowed.
  • Posters may not be hung up for more than 4 weeks
