Professor Curt Bonk’s Visit to the American University in Cairo |
Learning, Design and Adult Education (LDAE) Professor Curt Bonk visited the American University in Cairo (AUC) at the end of September (Sept. 22-29). His AUC visit as a Distinguished Visiting Scholar was facilitated by the Global & International Engagement unit. | | | | |
When at AUC, Bonk delivered three talks and two workshop events including sessions where he discussed his recent research on ChatGPT for online language learning and recent self-directed learning (SDL) studies of his research team. Professor Bonk also received a tour of Old Cairo with IU IST alumni Dr. Gihan Osman. He was shown the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, the streets of Old Cairo, Roman Aqueducts, and so much more. On his final day in Egypt, AUC arranged for a tour guide to show him the Step Pyramids of Saqqara as well as the Great Pyramids of Giza.

World Bank Internship
The internship allows individuals to bring new perspectives, innovative ideas and research experience into the Bank's work, while improving skills in a diverse environment. Candidates must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a full-time graduate study program (pursuing a master's degree or PhD with plans to return to school full-time). There is no age limit.

Study Trips and Internship Scholarships for Groups of Foreign Students in Germany
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) invites applications for its study trips and internships for groups of foreign students in Germany. The aim is to strengthen relations between Germany and international universities and provide them with the possibility to gain a cultural insight into a German research institution, either through study trips or internships.

VIA Global Community Fellowship
The Global Community Fellowship is a 13-15 month program for recent university graduates and starting as well as experienced professionals. The National Scholarship Program of the Slovak Republic
The Slovak Academic Information Agency and the Ministry of Education, Science Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic invite applications for their scholarships, under the National Scholarship Program of the Slovak Republic.
