I heard about the School of Education diversity initiatives from participating in a call via zoom where they explained the diversity initiatives.

I began working in the School of Education on 09/15/20
What do you like most about working in the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion? What do you find challenging in the work?
I like that any task we receive we can put our own creativity in and that our main focus is on the underrepresented class.
What have you learned working in School of Education diversity programs? How do you believe working in diversity will impact your career goals?
I learned that one of our goals is to create an environment, where underrepresented students feel welcomed and comfortable. I feel like working in diversity will help me create a sense on how to approach different tasks.

Being a part of the Balfour Program helped me realize it is important to help underrepresented students get used to a campus where they are the minority.
