About Me

Gabrielle Alicino is a Ph.D. student in the History, Philosophy and Policy in Education Program. Gabrielle’s experience draws on community development and education grounded in the unrelenting march towards social justice. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in Urban Studies with a focus on Urban Education, Gabrielle was awarded the Fox Leadership Fellowship to work directly with nonprofit leaders in New Orleans, LA at the intersection of public housing, health and education. Her work in education, parlayed into a role working with a network of community schools in Liberia, as part of a national education reform. When she is not gardening or walking her dog around Bloomington, she is trying to hop a plane somewhere.
