Teacher Education Scholarships for Current Students

The School of Education offers scholarships specifically for future teachers. To qualify, you must be a current School of Education student, or a student within the University Division with the intention of being an education major. By completing the Teacher Education Scholarship application, you will be considered for over 50 scholarship opportunities.

Scholarships are competitive and awarded based on your grades, test scores, letters of recommendation, and essays.

To apply for a teacher education scholarship, you must include the following information with your application:

  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Your current IU cumulative GPA
  • Essay responses to these questions:
    • What traits or qualities do you believe a good teacher should possess?
    • Drawing from your own experiences, how are you preparing yourself to become the good teacher you described in your response?

The Scholarship application is available from December 15th until February 1st. Apply during this timeframe to be considered for scholarships for the following academic year. When the application is available, see below for the link.
