Greetings! I'm a teacher turned doctoral student in the IST program with a minor in Applied Linguistics/TESOL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language). Prior to joining the IU Bloomington community in 2001, I worked for 11 years as an English teacher at Fudan University in Shanghai. My status shift posed a great challenge in the way of personal adjustment to this dynamic environment, where values and beliefs are represented in all their diversities at all levels. From such an experience of putting myself in perspective, I've gained much strength by virtue of IU's abundant resources, the camaraderie and collaboration with a galaxy of talented and tireless fellow students, and the busy yet friendly faculty and staff. Like the picturesque campus brimming with cultural charm, this experience of academic pursuit at IU will be indelible in my fond memories.
