In the School of Education at Indiana University, the Office of Academic Affairs is directed by the Executive Associate Dean.  A primary function of the Office of Academic Affairs is faculty and staff development, including promotion and tenure for tenure-track faculty and promotion and long-term contracts for clinical faculty.  All hiring of faculty and staff is coordinated by Academic Affairs, as are procedures for monitoring and supporting all individuals who work in the School.
Academic Affairs supports faculty governance in the School.  All paperwork for Policy Council, the elected governing body for the Bloomington and Indianapolis core-campus School of Education is coordinated through Academic Affairs.  Committees of the Policy Council are supported by Academic Affairs, and thus questions concerning School policies and governance issues should be addressed to this office.
