Faculty emerita honored with national award

The National Art Education Association (NAEA) has selected art education Professor Emerita Enid Zimmerman for a prestigious career achievement award. Zimmerman is the winner of this year's Lowenfeld Award and will deliver an address at the organization's national convention.

Reston, VA--Enid Zimmerman, Bloomington, IN, has been selected by the National Art Education Association to receive the 2010 Lowenfeld Award. This award recognizes an outstanding NAEA member who over the years has made significant contributions ot art education. Along with receiving this award, the recipient presents the annual "Lowenfeld Lecture" at the NAEA national Convention in Baltimore, Maryland, April 14-18, 2010.

NAEA President R. Barry Shauck states, "This award is being given to recognize excellence in professional accomplishment and service by a dedicated art educator. This recipient exemplifies the highly qualified individuals active in the field of art educaiton today:  leaders, teachers, students, scholars, and advocates who give their best to the profession."

NAEA is the professional association for art educators. Members include elementary, secondary, middle level and high schol art teachers; university and college professors; education directors who oversee educaiton in our nation's fine art museums, administrators and supervisors who oversee art education in school districts, state departments of educaiton, art councils; and artists throughout the United States and many foreign countries.
