Last year’s Read for the Record event raised $1 million nationwide for Jumpstart. Jumpstart is a program that focuses on early education programs. In a news release about the national event, Jumpstart says the Read for the Record event will “raise public awareness about the early education gap that exists between income levels, as well as raise money to support Jumpstart’s national early education programs.”
