Hardware and Software Requirements for Distance Students 

All students must have the following computer and connectivity configuration, at a minimum:

Hardware:

• PC with Microsoft XP SP3, Vista or higher; or Mac with OS X (version 10.3 or higher)
• Memory: 1 GB (2 GB recommended)
• 1024 X 768 Screen Resolution or higher
• Sound Card (Integrated or Separate)
• 80 GB Hard Drive (at least 20-40 GB free)
• CD-RW/DVD-RW Drive
• Printer

Connectivity Requirements:

• Broadband Connection
• DSL/Cable Modem

Peripherals (access to the following is recommended):

• Speakers and Microphone (Must be a headset)
• Scanner

Software:

• Symantec Endpoint Protection (IUWare)
• Adobe CS4 Design Premium (IUWare):  Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium includes Photoshop CS4 Extended, Illustrator CS4, Acrobat 9 Pro, Flash CS4 Professional, Dreamweaver CS4, Fireworks CS4.
  
• MS Office Enterprise 2007 or higher (IUWare)
• Microsoft XP SP3, Vista SP1 or higher  (IUWare); or Mac OS X 10.3 or higher
