Abbie Brown

Abbie Brown (IST @ IUB rookie class of 1995) took his MS in IST in 1997 and his Ph.D 1999. He is now working as associate professor at East Carolina University in the Department of Mathematics, Science and Instructional Technology Education where he teaches in the university's online graduate programs in instructional technology. He helps educators in K-12, college, government, and corporate settings understand and apply the instructional design process.

Brown is co-author of several books including, The Essentials of Instructional Design (2006, Prentice Hall) and the editor-in-chief of TechTrends. He is an award-winning educator, having received the New Jersey Governor's award for K-12 teaching, a state award for curriculum design, and a North Carolina Distance Learning Association award for online teaching.
