Visiting Scholars

We host between 15 and 25 accomplished visiting scholars from all over the world each year. Visiting scholars are an important part of our intellectual climate and academic community. They bring a variety of perspectives and experiences to the dialog about the challenges and opportunities educators face globally. The IU School of Education is dedicated to building and strengthening bridges of international understanding and global research in education.

Our school and the surrounding campus and community offer many opportunities to visiting scholars. School of Education opportunities include:

  • The School of Education Dean's Office and the International Programs Committee hosts a reception each semester honoring visiting scholars and their faculty hosts.

  • Collaboration with our faculty and access to our world class library and research facilities.

  • Visiting scholars serve as guest speakers in School of Education classes.

  • Visiting scholars enjoy our International Breakfast Club gatherings.

  • The School of Education joins in the worldwide celebration of International Education Week each November by holding festivities in tandem with the IU World's Fair and other campus events.
