I have recently (July, 2015) retired from IU Bloomington after serving as a administrator and faculty member in the School of Education.  In my administrative role, I served as Associate Dean for Research and assisted both faculty and R&D Centers in the search for external funding .  In my faculty role as Professor of Science Education, I worked with students who were planning to become secondary school science teachers and conducted research and development on new ways to teach science. My research focus is the use of new technologies and aspects of the learning sciences to improve science instruction.  I have held previous faculty/administrative positions at the National Science Foundation, Vanderbilt University and New York University before coming to Indiana in 2006.
