ABOUT ME

I am currently developing a virtual lab school at Indiana University that will be used to link students and scholars with children in schools throughout Indiana. My main academic interests include research on learning & problem solving in mathematics education, mathematical models & modeling, mathematics teacher education and computer-based curriculum development for children or adults. I also do research design & assessment design in mathematics & science education.

AWARDS
  • The annual PME/NA meeting was dedicated to me. I was the founder of both PME-NA and the NCTM Research Presessions back in 1978.
  • The first book in Springer's new series: Advances in Mathematics Education was dedicated to me. The book was titled Theories of Mathematics Education: Seeking New Frontiers, and it was edited by my close colleagues Sriraman & English. I was on the founding board of directors of PME back in 1977,
