ABOUT ME
As an academic advisor for the School of Education, I typically meet with undergraduate students who have certified to the School of Education and/or have been admitted to the Teacher Education Program.  I am here to help students understand their program requirements, select academic work that will move them toward meeting their professional goals, find extracurricular opportunities that will help them develop their teaching skills, and navigate the sometimes confusing path toward student teaching.  Before moving into academic advising, I taught middle school for over a decade, so I am familiar with the demands and rewards of field experience, student teaching, the job search process, and the teaching profession.  For this reason, I am happy to talk with students about teaching as a profession, as well as the nuts and bolts of their academic programs.
