Center for Human Growth General Information
The CHG is a service organization in the School of Education that has provided low cost professional counseling services to the Bloomington community for over 30 years.
The CHG is a service, research, and training center for master's and doctoral students in the Department of Counseling and Educational Psychology.
Counseling and Assistance Student Services Benefits
All Ivy Tech Students are covered by the CASS. Benefits include services for the following problems:
- Psychological issues (including depression, grief, anxiety, panic, eating, and other problems)
- Substance use and abuse
- Marital and familial difficulties (communication, conflict, separation and divorce)
- Academic performance concerns
- Adjusting to college; leaving college; career management
Access
The CASS program is available to Ivy Tech students 5 days a week with hours from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday. Students should call to make an appointment and to verify current hours of operation. Directions and parking arrangements will be provided upon scheduling of a first appointment.
Staff
The CHG CASS program will be staffed by doctoral student staff clinicians. All services are directly supervised by an Indiana-licensed Psychologist. The staff are experienced counselors who work year round and provide a variety of services in the CHG.
Directions and contact information
Parking is available on the upper level of the Jordan Parking Garage located on Jordan Avenue. Parking tags can be validated upon leaving the center. The center is located on the ground floor of the Education building in Suite 0001.
