Final Exhibition and Activity Sharing March 31

Children in Kindergarten through Sixth Grade are warmly invited to join the Indiana University Saturday Art School Program for Spring 2012. Classes take place over six Saturdays. All classes will meet at the W.W. Wright Education Building, 201 N. Rose Avenue. Saturday Art School provides an opportunity for children to experience arts instruction in supportive small group settings. This semester, children may participate in activities related to traditional visual art, creative drama, or digital arts.

Sessions are taught by Education students and supervised by Education faculty and graduate students. Visual art sessions are supervised by Ginger Brinn; creative drama sessions are supervised by Dr. Gus Weltsek; and the Saturday Studio is supervised by Kate Shively.

Art Explorations for K & Grade 1                      10:30 - 12:00 p.m.

Children enrolled in this course will experience a range of 2-D and 3-D visual art activities which may include drawing, painting, printmaking, collage and sculpture.

 

Art Explorations for Grades 2 & 3                       10:30 - 12:00 p.m.

Children enrolled in this course will experience a range of 2-D and 3-D visual art activities which may include drawing, painting, printmaking, collage and sculpture.

  

Art Explorations for Grades 4, 5 & 6                    10:30 - 12:00 p.m.         

Children enrolled in this course will experience a range of 2-D and 3-D visual art activities which may include drawing, painting, printmaking, collage and sculpture.

 

Saturday Studio Program: Digital Arts and Creative Explorations for Grades  K - 5      10:30 - 12:00 p.m.

Children enrolled in this course may explore digital arts and media related to their interests, including but not limited to: photography, digital design & creation, video game design, and /or computer programming.

  

Creative Dramatics and Storybook Theatre for Pre-K, Kindergarten & Grade 1              10:30 – 12:00 p.m. 

Students will explore essential tools of drama and theater through creativity, imagination and play as they grow towards a final storybook theatre production.
