Who is Involved?

NOTE: Years listed only reflect years of involvement with the Armstrong Program.

The Armstrong Teacher Educators Program is run by several people. They include the Associate Dean for Teacher Education, the Armstrong Chair for Teacher Education, the Administrative Assistant to the Associate Dean, and the Armstrong Program Coordinator / Graduate Assistant. They work together to address the needs of the program and the teachers involved.

The Armstrong Chair for Teacher Education is overseen by the Associate Dean for Teacher Education. The Armstrong Chair directs the Armstrong Program and works with the Armstrong Program Coordinator to run the program. The Associate Dean and Armstrong Chair both work to connect faculty members and Armstrong Teachers with similar interests so that they might work together. The Administrative Assistant to the Associate Dean for Teacher Education handles the processing of all paperwork for the Armstrong Program and assists with logistics. The Program Coordinator handles all of the day to day activities for the program. Each of these members also serve on the Armstrong Advisory Board.

In addition to the people listed above, the remainder of the advisory board consists of an equal mix of former Armstrong Teachers and School of Education faculty. The board meets to discuss issues that arise within the program and decide on how such issues should be addressed. The board also reviews all applications for the Armstrong Award each year and, after due consideration, selects finalists.
