Summer and Winter Station

Do you know why it is warmer in the summer than in the winter where you live? The Earth travels around the sun once every year and repeats the cycles of the seasons. Our students used the Light Probe to see how differently sunlight shines on the Earth in each season.

Station

Everyday in Ms. Martin's kindergarten class, they complete a different graphing activity. Ms. Martin thinks its important for her students to experience different types of data visualization.

  • Do you like pizza? yes= 2 black circle eyes  no= 2 black square eyes.
  • Do you play sports? yes= carrot nose  no=apple nose

Position, Velocity and Acceleration

Our students created a LEGO racecar that they sent down a track of their own design. They experienced object position, velocity and acceleration in a hands-on manner and saw how choices in the design of an object affect its physical properties and capabilities.

Under Pressure

Experiments with vinegar and baking soda are classic elementary school projects (ex. volcanoes). For this activity, our students put a data collection twist on the experiment, and learned how to use the Vernier Gas Pressure sensor
